POINT OF VIEW

Now, I will identify the different points of view used to narrate a story and understand how point of view impacts how a story is written or told.

Let's know the definition :

1. Point of view is the way a story is written or the perspective from   which a story is told.

2. Point of view is a story from the way the narrator sees it.

Why POV is important, because:

- It influences the plot.

- Affects how much information and the type of information revealed to the reader.

- If not used appropriately, a reader can be confused.

There are saveral Point of View:

1. First Person

First Person means that the story is told from the point of view of a character. In other words, the narrator is a main character in the story and uses pronouns “I”, “me”, "my", and "we" when referring to himself/herself. It often use in autobiography.

Example from Little Red Riding Hood story:

I opened the door to Grandma’s room and stepped inside. I squinted at Grandma in the dark room.

“Hello, my dear. Come closer.” She patted the bedspread beside her.

I moved closer to the bed until I could see her better.

“What big eyes you have today, Grandma.”

“All the better to see you with, my dear.”

2. Second Person

Uses the pronouns “you” and “your” to address the reader. It is often use in news present or in motivation seminary.

Example from Last Day in Autumn:

"You're out late," said an emotionless voice behind her. She turned.

3.Third Person

Third Person means that the reader is not the character, but experiences the story as an unseen observer. In other words, the narrator is outside of the story. This mode is distinguished by the use of “he”, “she,” "they," or the character's' names.

Let's take a look at the three types of "Third Person Point of View!"

Example :

1) Little Red Riding Hood opened the door to Grandma’s room and stepped inside.

2) Silverbell looked after it, smiling.

Now I would like to determining children short story point of view, the story are :

1. Little Red Riding Hood

2. The Last Day of Autumn

Both of them story are using third person perspective omniscient. In this story the writers know about everything from the start until the end. Inside the story there are a felling, action, dialogue and a mind thinking before do some action. So that they are third person perspective omniscient.

The character inside the story :

1. Little Red Riding Hood : Red Riding Hood, Mother, Grandma, The Wolf, and Farmer.

2. Last Day of Autumn : Silverbell, Bumblebee and Spirit of The Winter

The synopsis :

1. Little Red Riding Hood :

Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved by everyone who looked at her. Her grandmother gave her a little riding hood of red velvet, which suited her so well that she would never wear anything else; so she was called 'Little Red Riding Hood'. Little Red Riding Hood was walking along a path with a wolf. The wolf thought to himself: 'What a tender young creature! what a nice plump mouthful - she will be better to eat than the old woman'. So he decided to act craftily, so as to catch them. Little Red Riding Hood went to visit her grandmother at the cottage-door, but found it open. She called out: 'Good morning,' but received no answer; so she went to the bed and drew back curtains. There lay her grandmother with her cap pulled far over her face, and looking very strange. He thought to himself: 'How the old woman is snoring! I must just see if she wants anything' and cut open the wolf's stomach with a pair of scissors. Then fill it with stone and the wolf sliped off into the river.

2. Last Day of Autumn :

Silverbell is an autumn fairy she doesn't want to waste her time before winter and she loves autumn and other creatures very much. but the magic can't be used at the last second to return to the magic tree to hibernate and recharge the power finally he just sits with bumblebee on the rooftop.
