Independence Fashion style

Fashion style in the early days of independence has actually been around since 1900. It is known for certain that the model and style of clothing at that time had entered the stage of acculturating fashion culture with colonial countries such as Europeans and Japan. All can be seen with the characteristics that is distinctive and attached to the fashion style that is starting to develop and be used. Apart from coming from colonial countries. Fashion style in Indonesia is also influenced by cultural elements of clothing from China, India and Arabs who first entered Indonesia on missions to spread religion and trade. One of the most common characteristics used in the early days of independence is as follows:

1. Suit 

The current suit has been around since colonial times. The intellectual heroes of that time used suits as their everyday clothes. Heroes who often wear suits include the President Soekarno.

2. Peci

This cap adds to the authority of the person who uses it. A number of other heroes, such as Oemar Said Tjokroaminoto and General Sudirman, although not wearing a suit, were also seen wearing caps.

3. Sorban

The entry of Islamic religious symbols into Indonesia during the colonial period also indirectly influenced the way people dressed at that time, including the heroes. So don't be surprised when we Seeing today's photos of heroes in the colonial period often use a white turban wrapped around the head. This turban is usually combined with loose-cut brackets. 4. Tie 

Similar to the cap, the dasa is also a complementary accessory to the suit that is often used by heroes during their time of struggle. Soewardi Soerjaningrat, General Sudirman and of course Soekarno.

5. Spectacle's

6. Headband

Headband or head make-up which is familiarly known as a headband is also a distinctive style of some heroes besides wearing a bun. Like Martha Christina Tiahahu.

 

 


FASHION ERA NOW

the middle of 2021 in the midst of a pandemic, it doesn't make fashion trends in the wider community quiet. There are 4 major themes that contrast situation during the pandemic.

The two groups, namely those who are optimistic and more based on local functions and concepts, are packaged in the theme of Essentiality and Spirituality.

1. Essentiality

This theme was born from a situation where people tend to prioritize important things, as an expression of awareness to change new mindsets and habits due to the pandemic, especially for urbanites.



2.      Spirituality

Awareness to protect nature and cultural roots is the basis for the formation of this theme.



 

 

3.      Exploitation

This theme describes human behavior that is thirsty to explore various sources of natural wealth and the damage that occurs after it.

   Exploration

The exploration theme illustrates our dream to a new, better world. The new world that is equipped with novelty and high-tech thinking is very radical and futuristic.

 


                          RELIGIOUS FASHION TRENDS

1.      Definition of Fashion

               Specifically, it can be said that fashion is a style of dress that is worn every day by someone, whether it is daily life at home or certain events with the aim of supporting appearance.

Kinds of Fashion. In general, fashion style itself relies on a person's character or a special friend from the way he dresses, here are the types of fashion styles.

2.Fashion Function

               Fashion today does not depend on everyday life, but more than that, fashion is a lifestyle. This is because it cannot be separated from the position of women today who have a complex role in people's lives. In the past, women's activities were only in daily life and not many knew what fashion was. Meanwhile, women now have a very important role in family and social life.

3. A Brief History of Fashion in the Muslim World

               Abbasid Islamic period (7th and 8th centuries)

Shortly after the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 632 AD, the izar (a type of sarong) and thawb from pre-Islamic Arabia, along with the collarless qamis (shirt) became known as Muslim clothing for both sexes in Egypt. from a wide cloth. KARTINI FASHION TRENDS

                                               

The kartini day which falls every April 21st is also identical to kebaya. This traditional dress was indeed a common item for RA Kartini in his daily life. Kebaya derived from Arabic that is Abaya means robe or loose clothes. Early forms is form Majapahit Kingdoms. Clothing that wears by queens and king's mistresses. Previous to the islamic culture came in, the people of Indonesia in the 9th century. They wear match clothes and kemben. Latter the islamic culture came in, there is adjusment to hid breast area. So that be made is like an outer to cover back, shoulders and both arms. In 15th until 16th century kebaya just wears by priyayi that is aristocrat. Generally kebaya is made by mori fabrics. But after years latter for aristocrat is made by silk, velvet or lace. For ordinary woman in that century kebaya is made by cotton. 

Kebaya has become a symbol of women's liberation in Indonesia through a representation linking kebaya with a 19th-century raden a kartini figure.
