What is it?
This event is

bumi. It includes a series of activities. Happens a week after Eid Al-Fitr, As
well as being a facilitator in the halal bihalall culture in Indonesia. In the

Synopsis
·
The
purpose of this case study is to reduce the accumulation of trash that occurs
after the event is held.
·
Field
research of this topic is about the huge amount of trash or litter post the
Pesta Lomban event. Either it is caused by the waste of the food or by the
tourists who want to enjoy the event.
·
The
outline of the issues will be preventing the amount of trash post-event and
cleaning the area afterwards.
·
The
theory we will be used on this case is reducing the amount of waste by
increasing people’s awareness about their surroundings.
2.
Findings
·
Identifying
the problem
Firstly,
analyzing the problem, that is the huge amount of trash. In Pesta Lomban event,
they will do pelarungan of buffalo head and other offering as a form of showing
gratitude to the God. Because of this, the sea will be littered even more, not
to mention the waste by the tourists left on the beach and around the area.
· Second,
the underlying problems, is the lack of people’s awareness and the lack of
trash can around the area.
• Third, littering as indonesian people culture which is need a movement from the mindset. That awareness about trash. Understanding about how important threw the trash into the basket. Because it start from habbits gonna be a culture paradigm among indonesian people.
• The Acculturation and Assimilation :
√ Dupa (Hindu-Indonesia Culture)
√ Sedekah food gathering (Java Culture- Islam)
√ Shipwar (Hindi - Java)
√. Wayang and traditional dance (Hindu - Java - Islam)
√ Create a colorful ship (Java - Naderland)
√. Buffalo a holy animal (Hindu - Java)
• Timeline the development of Pesta Lomban

Discussion
·
Pesta
Lomban is a most awaited event on Ramadhan month at Jepara, so it is normal if
people either from local or from other city and other province just to witness
and enjoy the event. However, the event itself (pelarungan of buffalo head and
other offering) may caused water pollution and the visitors may littering the
beach.
·
The
alternative solutions of the problems above can be done by, increasing the
amount of the trash can on the area, educating the people by seminar or
advertisement about how bad littering can be and hopefully it can increase
their awareness, reducing the number of plastic used either by the event organizer
and by the people who attending the event, and adding more law and rules about
littering.
·
These
solutions obviously have advantages and disadvantages. We will start from the
advantages first, of course the solutions above will reduce many amount of
waste, trash, and especially plastic. However there is also a disadvantage,
that is, it need so much money in order to make it happened.
4.
Conclusion
·
The
beautiful Culture in Jepara is having a meaningfull philosophy. In short The Philosophy is thanksgiving for God's gift through fortune
that comes from abundant water throughout the year. Besides after the
traditional ceremonial there are a lot of trash and many people littering. So
that, the event that makes us fell blessings with the God gift make us annoying
with people who littering. So we decide to look for the solution. First, is
making Strong written regulations that will punish perpetrators who litter or
even exploit the pollution to the environment. The second is making public
service advertisements and collaborating with influencers to encourage
disposing of waste in its place and reducing the use of plastic and other
non-biodegradable waste.
5.
Recommendation
·
We
choose forceful alternative solutions because we’re leaning on the government
side and hopefully the society will do so. The example is adding more law and
rules about littering, this law actually already exist. It’s on Pasal 31 E
which reads, “setiap orang dilarang membuang sampah tidak pada tempat yang
telah ditentukan dan disediakan”. There is also a consequence if someone break
the law, it’s written on Pasal 50 ayat 3 that if a person proven breaking the
law, they will be on jail for 3 months (the longest) or paying forfeit Rp
15.000.000,-.
• The second, we can asked influencers to promote a culture of proper waste disposal. This will take effect very quickly. We can also put up a No Littering poster on the billboard street and on other social media. With the possibility of people seeing and reading and interested in making it a culture.
6.
Implementation
• The solution that we given here is for the
government and All Indonesian people. Because this goal will not be achieved
without coordination and integration between the two.
• It is hoped that at any time all parties can
promote a clean, waste-free lifestyle at any time, not only when the
competition is taking place.
